The Customer
The Customer
Alinta Energy is one of Australia’s largest energy retailers, generators, investors, and developers. In the last decade they’ve grown from being the largest residential gas retailer in Western Australia to the preferred electricity and gas provider for more than 1.1 million homes and businesses Australia-wide and are determined to make energy better.
The Challenge
The Challenge
Alinta Energy approached Furō due to our established trust and strong working relationship, seeking data engineering expertise to modernise their finance reporting capabilities. The goal was to onboard new data sources and streamline the data landscape, addressing inefficiencies that were slowing down financial reporting and decision-making.
Their existing finance reporting solution consisted of multiple disparate data repositories, which required significant manual effort to prepare data for reporting and integration with other systems. This manual process not only increased the risk of errors but also limited operational efficiency.
The key objectives of this project were:
Centralise finance data by:
Consolidating finance data assets into a unified repository.
Automating manual, time-consuming processes.
Building reporting data objects that serve specific business needs.
Enable centralised reporting by:
Onboarding new data sources into Alinta Energy’s strategic data platform.
Productionizing pilot processes to deliver consistent reporting and integration capabilities.
Enhance operational efficiency by:
Migrating processes to a strategic, supported platform.
Eliminating key-person dependencies.
Phasing out legacy platform processes.
